Journal prompt
rolled I was supposed to use the color highlighted words and create either a short story out of all of them, or take them individually and make a summary of a story. Here’s what I came up with.
lightning

parrot

jealousy
waterfall
Crash
Crash hated storms, almost as much as he hated his name. Who the hell names there kid Crash anyway?
He grabbed the letter off the counter and stuffed it in his jean pocket before heading for the door.
“It’s rainin. It’s rainin.” Called a voice in the front room. It belonged to his mom’s parrot, Lilly, whose cage sat next to the family’s fireplace.
Crash rolled his eyes. He hated that damn parrot. Sometimes he thought his mom preferred the Lilly over him.
Wow. Jealous much? He thought as he picked up the black umbrella nestled in the corner. He opened the door and the umbrella before stepping out into the cold, damp, night. Why did had have to mail this stupid letter tonight anyways? Why couldn’t he just wait until morning? Oh that’s right. His mom told him to “do it or get the fuck out.”
Talk about your ultimatums.
He was almost to his car when he heard it. The thunderous crack above him. He turned to look at the sky, only to see a flash of light above him. He didn’t have time to blink before the electricity flowed through his body. He dropped to the ground, shocked and twitching. Had he really just been hit by lightening?
A waterfall of emotions overtook him as he lay there listening the wind howl and feeling the rain hit his face.
Crash smiled as he thought how ironic this all was.
Monster -Her father had always warned her about the monsters in her closet, but it wasn’t until she was face to face with one that she believed him.
Meteor-It was summertime and all the residents of the small, Oceanside, town of Ravenrock were all talking about one thing, the Meteor shower. Supposedly there was some kind of magic that it cast on those deserving of it. But really, who believes in that stuff?
Thief-Some called him a hero, others called him a martyr. But Grace? Grace called him athief, because he had stolen her heart before going on a suicide mission to save them.
